the importance of a shower

So now I am through with classes for the day, and just hanging out until i volunteer at 1:30 at the animal shelter. I am looking out my window and I see smoke... well actually it is steam from the laundry room which happens to be on the same side of Ryan hall as my room... exciting eh? it is very cold and rainy today, very very yucky i much say. I woke up late this morning and didn't shower, but i showered last night so it's okay, I just feel funny. I really depend on my showers to get me through the day.
I want to go home, let's face it I am homesick... I am doing better now, but for a while there it wasn't cool. I had a hard time going home for the wedding and then coming back...; well the wedding was wonderful, but the coming back wasn't. I am hoping that finding stuff to do... like the shelter, will help a lot.
Meems is reading Poe right now and not enjoying herself, but just informed me she is almost done and then we can go to lunch, yummmm ALLIOT!! ;P

Well here I am again. I went home for Chad and Becky's wedding... what a beautiful occasion i must add, they looked so happy and were both glowing. :-)
Every time I leave school I don't think it will be so hard coming back. I am always so lonely for the first day or two, and then i snap out of it and get to work. I hope it gets easier, 'cause, right now, every time I go home it gets harder to come back.
okay, enough with the "woe is me" bull crap, I have sociology work to do and i am depressing myself... Soc. is a very interesting class, but not as fun as Anthro.
Peace out kids!

Back to school again

So, as most of you know my backward school decided to have school on a holiday. I started my second semester here at St. Mikes on Monday at 9:30 and was done by eleven... not bad eh? Well, it gets better... I woke up Monday morning feeling "funny"(not funny haha, funny weird) and by noon it got much worse. I went to see the nurse hoping to get some form of anti-nausea treatment (hey, they had it in Japan). She told me it was because of the IB Profin I took on an empty stomach, and said she would give me some ginger ale to help the nausea. While she was gone I threw up...a lot, and assumed I would feel better. Was I ever wrong!! I went back to my room and continued to throw up until about nine that night, NINE HOURS!!! I was so exhausted that I couldn't make my first two classes yesterday morning, and barely made it through my last two. Today I am feeling molto bene and was hungry for the first time this afternoon, very exciting i must say.
So I blame this mysterious illness on Subway at the University Mall and will never eat there again. The lesson to be learned from this is to never start school on a holiday. If i had come back to school today and not Monday, i would never have gotten sick because i wouldn't have eaten at Subway. If i had gotten sick anyway, I wouldn't have missed any classes. THEY ARE HOLIDAYS FOR A REASON, NO SCHOOL!!
Other than the stomach lurching events of Monday and Tuesday, I am enjoying my classes, and am happy to see all my friends, who by the way took very good care of me during my temporary illness (special thanks to Rita and Meems)

So today i had an eye doctor's appointment, and I am happy to report that my vision is no worse for wear, despite the old contacts, swelling, scratches, hypoxia, and assumed infection from the Boston trip... WOW if I were my eyes, i would have quite on me years ago! just kidding, for being dysfunctional, they hold there own.
For Christmas I got a new scrapbook, and am currently compiling all my Japan slips and other scrapbook-able material and composing a rather entertaining piece of Nikki Literature. After the eye doctor appointment I went to the scrapbooking store (established for enthusiasts like myself) and went crazy. I bought paper, pens and stickers, and can't wait to work on my book tonight. I have already finished 9 pages in 3 days, i am pretty proud. :-)
I have mentioned how much i hate Maine winters? It is soooo freakin' COLD!!! It isn't snowing it is just COLD!! Grr i want spring now! But i don't want my b-day, I am trying to stop the effects of aging by skipping my birthday, do you think it will work??

I am home, and enjoying my month's vacation! The food is great the company is fantastic, the only complaint i have is I can't go anywhere, and I get bored very quickly.
Christmas was great we had family and friends over and had a wonderful dinner, and lots of fun gifts. I am now fully equipped with my ski parka and gloves, all i need is ski pants and i am good to throw myself off the side of a mountain for funzies.. . does that sound weird to anyone else?

Well, I am home for the holidays, as the saying goes. It is weird, I am so used to the fast pace of school it takes a while to get into the swing of slow and relaxed here. I had corn chowder for dinner and eggs and toast for breakfast, as this rate I'll be gaining the freshmen 15 at home, not at school.
i think my lamp is broken and i am afraid it might burst into flames on me here, so I am going to go to bed.

Everyday life is usually too chaotic for you. Given enough time alone, it's easy for you to find inner peace. You tend to be spiritual, having found your own meaning of life. Wise and patient, you can help people through difficult times. At your worst, you brood and sulk. Your negative thoughts can trap you. You are reserved and withdrawn. Hey sorry I haven't been very habitual with this live journal stuff, I have been to busy writing my life down in a flippin fifteen page memoir for class, so no time to jot any of it down here. But I will try to sum up....
So last weekend I went to Beantown, very fun! Expect we were lost in Boston for two hours trying to get out of the freakin city, we just kept making huge circles, so finally I fell asleep and didn't wake up until we were safely home, typical me.
During one Alliot visit Maria and Michelle brought me 7 cookies and a cup of hot chocolate when I asked for one cookie and a cup. If you wnat something done right do it yourself, eh?
I had my last Italian class on Friday :-( Io sono tristissima, Io avevo una buona classe, e una bellissima professoressa. Too bad that class couldn't have lasted all year long. (;_;)
Other than that not much going on around here. Monday I have my Italian final and Wednesday I have Math (yuck!) and Anthropology, then i am home free. Phew.
Today Maura's sweetheart of a father took us out for some really food, yum. I have eaten so much today, I will definately fast tomorrow, or i might explode.

so i took a friends advice and had a turkey sandwich, ok... two turkey sandwiches (they were quite tasty). The point was to raise me triptafan levels, as i have not been sleeping. (i don't know how to spell that, so i gave it my best shot phonetically.) Anyway, praise be to turkey!! I slept like a baby, it was so nice. I also finished my memoir right before class, so close to class, that i was actually late. oops. :-/ luckily i didn't have to read it, PHEW!! Today it is really dark and rainy, I am surprised and thankful it is not snowing, it is sooooo cold. I am starting to get a headache... maybe i over slept, or maybe it's the lack of a decent diet today, unless you consider a whole pack of haichu healthy...?

Sleepy Sundays

I am exhausted. I am not sleeping and I can't figure out why, but it is driving me batty. Last night during my most recent bout with insomnia, I kept my roomy up with me... we put together a really sexy outfit for Monday. I am quite excited to wear my new ensemble, however, I am afraid I will be just a bit chilly as I am wearing a skirt, and it is VERY freakin cold here.
So here is my sleeping issue... with the exception of last night, when I couldn't fall asleep, I general fall asleep with no problem, however STAYING asleep has become something of an issue. I have backed off the caffeine so what's the deal!?!?!
I have accomplished everything except homework this weekend... I chilled with friends, saw the hockey game, at which we TOTALLY kicked some ass!!!! GO JULIE!!! I have kept up with my emails, Meems and I cleaned the room, and FINALLY saw Children of the Corn, unfortunately that was disappointing, but I had fun watching it, while stuffing my face full of food with no nutritional value what so ever. I am currently waiting for my laundry to finish which is a bummer, if there is anything i hate more than dishes it laundry. Seriously, let's talk about this for a minute... You can never make head way with laundry... Unless you do laundry naked, there is ALWAYS something to be washed! The same goes for dishes, I wash them and then want to starve myself to keep from EVER having to do them again... Unfortunately, I am a glutton and the thought of NOT consuming food makes my tummy growl... ONAKA GA PEKO PEKO!!!

Ohayo!! Well it is 1 o'clock-ish and I am completely pumped for the HOCKEY GAME!!! I think it is my new favorite sport! I want to go see a guy's game too, because I just learned the rules are different for girls,... For example, GIRLS CAN'T CHECK!! How lame is that? Apparently it is the same for lacrosse...? The strategy completely changes because girls can't be as violent. Who the frig made up that rule? I am going home in 9 1/2 days!!! I guess mom has a surprise guest... I can't for the life of me think of who this mystery woman could be. Oh well I love surprises!! (*-*)

Well today, I ripped my second pair of contacts. HOw do I keep doing this?!?!?! I didn't think i had goliath fingers, but i must... It has been dark as the grave here in Winooski Park for two weeks... TWO WEEKS! But today of all days the glorious sun decides to make a miraculous appearance! All i have to say to the one controlling the sun... WTF?!? Oh well, at least i am wearing sun glasses, otherwise with all the blinking i do, someone is going to think i am having a seizure.
I have a question for the powers that be... why is it that the people who deserve most to be where they are, get the boot? I have a wonderful professor who will not be teaching here anymore, because of some stupid rule saying adjuncts can only teach 15 credits a year, who can anyone live off of that?? This school doesn't seem to know how to hold on to the ones who care for the school the most. I don't get... any thoughts?
